Bill Holohan and Associates is a firm of Solicitors, Notaries Public, Arbitrators, Trade Mark Agents/European Community Trade Mark Practitioners and Commissioners for Oaths. Having been a partner in a larger firm for the preceding decade, the firm was established in 1998 by Bill Holohan and operates from offices in Dublin and Cork. Our objective in acting on behalf of clients is to help them achieve a speedy, practical, and effective solution to their problems or to advise them on how best to avail of or exploit the opportunities available to them.

Too often lawyers look at a problem from a single dimension and rely simply on precedent as their "route map" on how to resolve problems. We strive to consider all dimensions of a given situation and are not afraid to consider advising unusual or unprecedented approaches with a view to achieving results.

The firm has developed experience and expertise in a number of areas, in particular Franchising, Business/Company Operations, Trade Marks/Intellectual Property, Arbitration, Debt Collection, Bankruptcy/Insolvency and Admiralty/Maritime/Shipping. The Principal of the firm, Bill Holohan, acts as legal advisor to The Irish Franchise Association, and has also been a member of the Executive Committee of the Irish Maritime Law Association since 1985, and acted as the Honorary Secretary of that Association for a number of years. He is also a Titulary Member of the "Comite Maritime Internationale."

In addition Bill Holohan has acted as a Director and Company Secretary of many companies and become involved in their ongoing management, giving him a unique insight into the needs of business clients. In recent years he has also become involved with a number of start-up companies in the information technology sector.

In this regard we draw inspiration from the words of Lord Justice Denning, a former Master ofthe Rolls of the Superior Courts of Justice in England who said:

"What is the argument on the other side? Only this, that no case has been found in which it has been done before. That argument does not appeal to me in the least. If we never do anything which has not been done before, we shall never get anywhere. The law will stand firm while the rest of the world goes on; and that will be bad for both."

The firm has such a wide range of experience and knowledge that a rounded and well-considered approach can be taken to any client's problems.

In addition, the firm caters for the needs of private clients in areas such as litigation, conveyancing and probate
