Such
is the aura of success associated with franchising that many business
offers are described as franchises when the are not. The term as defined
by the Irish Franchise Association refers to "business format franchising",
a licensing system whereby a franchiser allows a franchisee the right
to use the franchiser's operational systems, know how, trade marks
etc to run the franchisee's business, in return for an ongoing fee
related to the turnover of the franchisee's business. |

be taken before signing anything. One should never contract to pay
money until one knows what one's legal rights under the agreement
